Feeling the travel blues hard, I was desperate to get something else booked in to work towards. I’d been dying to visit Italy for years and after a couple of failed attempts and a random conversation with my friend Amy, we decided to just go 2 weeks later.
I fell in love with this country and it’s culture and oh my word the food… that heavenly food. It’s safe to say I could not fit into my jeans by the end.
We got stuck in the passport security machines during a power cut, got hassled by our b&b host, Michaela, who fed us birthday cake for breakfast. We nearly died many, many times trying to navigate our teeny little Lancia through the windy cliff-edge roads and rolling down the steep hills backwards (now I laugh, but my god the feeling of thinking you’re going to roll off a cliff is slightly concerning) and we had a good ole flight delay coming home.
But it was one of my favourite 5 days and I am going back asap.
